2021 CQA National Juried Show

Today I got the most exciting email: “Dear Deborah. On behalf of the CQA/ACC Board of Directors, I am pleased to inform you that your entry, Through Lucy’s Eye has been accepted into the virtual National Juried Show (NJS).”

An art quilt I made of Lucy (an Elephant at our local Zoo) was juried into the 2021 Canadian Quilters Association National Juried Show. Last year, a quilt I made of my Bernese Mountain Dog Spirit was juried into the show that was supposed to be hosted in Edmonton. Unfortunately it was cancelled because of COVID-19. They carried forward last year’s juried entries so that means two of my quilts will be in this year’s show. Unfortunately, I am not allowed to post any public pictures just in case they may be seen by one of the judges.

EMQG Raffle Quilt

Flimsy

I volunteered to do the free motion quilting on the Edmonton Modern Quilt Guild’s 2021 Raffle Quilt. They gave me full creative control and let me do whatever I wanted. I decided to replicate, with stitching, the piecing from the bottom left corner in the top right corner. I used Ocean, Bright Blue, Mint, Hawaiian Blue, Baby Blue and Pistachio and Glide thread.

Sandi’s Charity Quilt

For 2021, members of The Edmonton Modern Quilt Guild are making and donating quilts to Lurana Shelter. They offer safe refuge and life changing services to women and children who are victims of domestic violence in our community.

Sandi made this quilt top and I provided the backing and the free motion quilting. I used E2E design Malachite and Glide thread.
