Scarlet Glory

Now that the 2023 CQA show is over I can share pictures of my quilts that were juried into the show. This is “Scarlet Glory” 35×23. It was inspired by a painting by Canadian Landscape artist Brigitte Gratton. I am so grateful that she generously allowed me to use her beautiful art as my muse. It was made with hand cut pieces of raw edge appliqué and extensive thread play.

I just found out that it has been juried the 2023 International Quilt & Fiber Festival in Washington.

I apologize for not posting much lately. It just seems that there are not enough hours in the day.

Here is a recent finish. Although I’ve completed 4 textile portraits of my Bernese Mountain Dog I have never done one of my Golden Retriever. There are over 132,000 stitches and 18 different thread colours (primarily Aurifil) in the decorative free motion quilting.
